In 2018, I became interested in home automation and decided to give it a try. I started off using a Raspberry Pi and Home Assistant to create little automations that would make my life easier. Since then, I've been able to expand what I can do by adding other components such as ESP8266 boards, an array of sensors, light switches and energy monitoring tools. All of this has enabled me to control the environment inside my house with the simple press of a button or even by voice command!
